Getting Started
Install CoTrading, connect testnet, and approve your first AI trade plan.
Getting Started
This guide takes you from install to your first AI-approved order — on testnet, with no real funds at risk.
Download and install
Download the CoTrading desktop app for your platform from cotrading.io and install it like any normal desktop application. The software is free and no features are locked behind a paywall.
First launch
On first launch, CoTrading sets up a local workspace on your machine. There is no account required to use the app locally — a subscription only buys hosted AI model credits (see Subscription & Credits).
Connect a testnet exchange
Add an exchange connection using testnet API keys. Testnet is the default and strongly recommended while you learn the workflow. See Connect an Exchange for how to create keys with withdrawals disabled and store them safely.
Add your AI model key (optional)
You can bring your own AI model key (BYO), stored locally, or use hosted credits from a subscription. Either way, the key never enters logs and is never uploaded.
Ask for analysis and get a plan
Open the Markets Workspace, pick a symbol, and ask the side-panel AI to analyze the chart. When you request a plan, the AI produces a trade plan card: direction, entry, stop-loss, position size, and its reasoning.
Review and approve
Read the plan carefully. Approve to send the order to the testnet exchange, or Reject to discard it. The AI cannot submit the order itself — your approval is the only path to execution.
Stay on testnet first
Practice the full loop on testnet until the approval flow feels natural. Only then consider Live Trading, which adds several confirmation gates. Trading involves risk.
